Special report
The movement takes its name from the protected flamingo habitat at Zvërnec, near the Narta Lagoon, where a luxury resort is planned. It began in May 2026 as a protest against the project and the change to the protected-areas law, and grew into a wider movement. In October, students joined with their own demands about education. This page follows what happened, in order, and marks where violence was reported and by whom.
